Sydney Netball Academy Successful Athletes Announced

Manly Warringah Sapphires Premier League, Wed Nov 28, 2018 2:50PM

MW Sapphires congratulations all the MWNA Players who have successfully progressed past the final phase of the Sydney Netball Academy (SNA) trials.

Our U23s head coach, Virginia Welsh, heads up the Sydney Netball Academy program, supported by a familiar MWNA coach, Sue Gill, as one of the Assistant Coaches.

SNA & Academy is a vital part of our young players pathway in preparing for State Trials.  The academy maintains players skills and prepares the girls leading into State Trials.
The Sydney Netball Academy is the only academy that Netball NSW finance.  Players must stand for the academy that is geographical to their home address. MWNA players therefore trial for Sydney Netball Academy as the Manly area is geographically listed within the Sydney Academy area.  It’s is one of the toughest Academies purely due to the number of players that trial.  At the first trial this year there were 200 players!!! So to make it through to this final group is a huge achievement.

There are two Academy tournaments throughout the year with final Academy Challenge, in Orange in October where most of the selectors will be around looking at girls.

The final phase trialists for SNA has been announced.
